Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi’s Flow chart describes how you feel when you’re ability and the challenge is layed out. This theory of flow is relevant when playing games. For example when I play a video game which the challenge is high and my ability is also high I find my self in a flow state. On the other hand when I play a game which has high challenges and my ability is low I often find myself in the worry or anxiety state. This chart can be used for game designers to think about when creating games. You often want the player of your game to be in a flow state because this is when they are the most “happy” playing the game.
